HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM
Colégio Objetivo is a private school that follows the Brazilian
national curriculum, operating on a calendar year from
February to December. The Objetivo Group has developed its
own educational methodology and instructional
materials—including textbooks and workbooks—which are
used both in our own schools and by franchise units
throughout Brazil.
The school day consists of six 50-minute classes. Our students'
schedule follows the Brazil’s New High School System, which
includes 2,400 hours of General Basic Education and 600 hours
of Educational Pathways across four areas of knowledge:
Mathematics and Technologies; Languages, Codes, and
Technologies; Natural Sciences and Technologies; and Human
Sciences and Technologies.
The majority of high school content is covered in the 10th and
11th grades. In the 12th grade, students review and deepen
their understanding of the material, which prepares them for
the Brazilian University Entrance Examinations (Vestibular)
without the need for a separate preparatory course.
Students take weekly tests and, each quarter, they complete
two assessments called Interdisciplinary Themes. These cover
the following areas: Natural Sciences (Biology, Physics, and
Chemistry); Human Sciences (Geography, History, Sociology,
and Philosophy); Codes and Languages (Portuguese, Foreign
Language – English, Arts, and Physical Education); and
Mathematics.
